What is the Best you are imagining for yourself?

What is the best you are imagining for yourself?

Are you stuck, thinking that your life is as good as it gets and you don’t deserve more, that there isn’t more, that you have to make do with what you have?

Some of us in this experience are blessed with knowing our true worth, or at least having a good sense of entitlement. Some of us get the game that we must strive to be the best we can be, and most of us, in my experience are stuck in a strange form of acceptance. Unable to realise just how magnificent we are and how talented we are, we stay in dead relationships, dead jobs, and the struggle at the end of each month to meet the financial demands imposed by governments, societies, and our inability to manage what we are living on.

It doesn’t have to be this way. You can do better. When I didn’t have a car, I use to walk around looking at any old wreck and tell myself I would be happy with that. For any car at all was better than none right? It crossed my mind one day, perhaps I could set myself a target a little higher. Why didn’t I imagine myself driving the latest Tesla, or something that was both luxurious, and beautiful? Why was I aiming so goddamn low?

As I reach a point in my life where I have to make changes, and take responsibility for myself, I realise the signs that I have ignored in my life. I recently visited a woman’s house set in a forest. It had a vegetable roof, huge class walls, cork panelling and a wooden interior. There was a huge pool in the tended garden, that was eco friendly and my first thought was, wow, I have been setting my sights too low.

It’s not the first time I have had this impression. I seem to be stuck in believing that I don’t deserve what the well off have, or that I can’t attain it, or that it’s beyond my reach. I don’t fully understand. I do know this however, if I aim low, I hit low. If I am high I hit high. Yes it’s that simple.

Our lives are manifestations of our mindset.

Leonardo de Vinci, Einstein, Chris Rock, Maya Lou, Nelson Mandela, Mother Theresa, Gandhi, Martin Luther Kind, Steve Jobs, Madonna, JK Rowling, Oprah,? are all human beings. You are a human being. You can argue yourself into your comfort zone and make excuses as to why you are unhappy and unfulfilled, or you can count the number of bones in the ass of each of these people and then count the number of bones in your own.

I remember being struck dumb when a friend of mine made a cast off remark, ‘We are not here to suffer‘. I was stunned and speechless. I realised I had been living a life where I expected suffering and challenges and problems and heartbreak. It was a moment of clarity in my life where I realised things could be better and I don’t have to settle for just enough, for okay, for a banger, for stress, for getting by.

The first step in success is trying. So shake yourself up, find a passion, a project, a goal and aim high, now readjust and aim higher still. Then go for it.

Sure there will be failures, and checks, and perhaps even a check mate. It may take hard work, time, dedication, or you might just fly quickly. Believe me, you are capable of amazing things. You are capable of anything you set your mind to, and you can have anything that any other human being can have.? Life is abundant, the planet is abundant and there is more than enough for everyone.? It might not seem like it right now, but you can do much better than your current situation. So if you are standing on the edge of cliff, starving and afraid to fly, I urge you do it, watch yourself soar. As Henry Ford is often quoted, ‘If you think you can, or you think you can’t, then you are probably right.

I know I can, and I am.
