The first time I heard the notion of staying small I didn’t really understand it. Over the years I realised staying small is the thing I do when I don’t step into my personal power and abilities. Like all of us, I have talents. There are things I can do well and there are things I should probably leave to others. However the tendency with us humans can be to make ourselves small. How often have you been tempted by a dream, or even a simple task, only to delay it through making excuses that you don’t deserve it? Perhaps you tell yourself you are not good enough? You are not able to see a way where little you can achieve what the big people achieve?
I hesitated with many things, relationships, jobs, travel, opportunities. Each time I hesitated I told myself, this person was too good for me. Or I would not imagine I could do what the other humans were doing. Sometimes, with simple stuff, like bureaucratic requirements, bill paying, or even just keeping my place clean and tidy, I would procrastinate, make excuses, invent tiredness even.
It’s true for me that the best time to do thing is when the time feels right, but sometimes we need to push through the small feeling. The feeling of wanting to be safe and secure. This life is an amazing adventure with a lot to gain when we take a risk. Can we trust ourselves? Can we remember that those we tend to idolise or even just admire have has many bones in their ass as we do?
Don’t be small. You are a walking talking miracle with as much right to be here as anyone else. You are smart, capable, coherent, logical and human. You will make mistakes. So What? Just don’t be the mistake. Take your courage in your hands, at when you are the jumping point, spread your wings and fly. You can do anything you want. Yes you can.
Long time supporter, and thought I’d drop a comment.
Your wordpress site is very sleek – hope you don’t mind me asking
what theme you’re using? (and don’t mind if I steal it?
:P)
I just launched my site –also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!) the site down quite a bit.
In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for “royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any feedback) – it’s still in the works.
Keep up the good work– and hope you all take care
of yourself during the coronavirus scare!
