When you know you can do better, or even when you feel you should, you could be guilty of putting yourself under pressure. However at this time of year with pressure to be happy, and pressure to spend coming at us from all angles it can be really hard to see the wood for the trees. I know I am not the only one who has sought refuge in a blanket a sofa and Netflix in November and December.
Truth be told no matter what you are going through, and I mean no matter what, sitting there thinking about it won’t change it. Time out from stress is absolutely justified. Perhaps what you need is to binge on leisure time and not be worrying about your taxes, your kids, your divorce, why you are single, getting a job, finding food or a car or the million other things we can torture ourselves with in a given day at any given moment. All this thinking and worrying and procrastinating and prevaricating and fear living can be exhausting.
It’s as if we are blowing up a balloon for a pity party and it’s getting so big we can’t see past the tip of our nose anymore.
So as the title says, there is a way out. It’s never too late in the day. I promise you. Today after procrastinating for months about writing a new story, I started to do it about 30 mins before midnight. Sure it was late. However, the difference in my mind between the now and the before is just fantastic. I realise that sometimes the easiest and quickest way to crack the circle of negative thought is just to do something. It doesn’t matter what it is. Just take an action.
So my challenge to you today is to take an action towards resolving one thing that has been bugging you. Just one action. It doesn’t matter how big or small.
Have a great week,
Collie
